Chief Minister Harish Rawat has stressed that the banks should increase their Credit-Deposit Ratio (CDR) and the State Government is ready to partner with them. Moreover, the banks should be more liberal while allocating loans for the hilly districts. They should be liberal in such schemes where the State Government gives 80 per cent grant. For this, they should prepare a work plan. He reiterated his Government’s commitment to development.
We are making efforts to provide quality education to our youths and they are being made technically sound. Along with this, we are focusing on checking migration from the State. To arrest the trend, we are implementing micro, small and medium industry policy. He expressed the views while addressing a seminar on the State credit organised by NABARAD in Dehradun on Tuesday.
We are going to launch Mera Dhan-Mera Gaon under which anyone can create infrastructure like school, hospital and office. The infrastructure will be taken over by the State Government on lease/rent and it would be more than the FD. They would get handsome amounts against their properties. They would get a fixed amount on monthly basis so that they can stay put in their villages.
The State Government has started a host of welfare schemes for the mass of the people and the benefits would be visible in the coming days. State Government is promoting cluster-based agriculture and seed-change programme is being launched. Whosoever cultivate fodder- based tree will be given bonus by the State. In the hills, the State Government is giving Rsfour per kg special package to the milk producers so that they would purchase more and more cattle to boost their productivity.
The State Government is giving 80 per cent grant in the agriculture sector. Its benefit would reach the people once the banks participate. With this, the common man would get loan from the nearest branch of his locality. As NABARD is making contribution in the realm of the State’s development other banks should follow suit.
State Government longs to see banks being involved in the development of border and remote areas of the State. With the help of NABARD and other banks, the State can stride with giant steps on the path of development.
NABARD chief general manager CP Mohan apprised the people of the works being done by it in the State. NABARD is going to give Rs14,744 crore to the State by way of loan in the next financial year and this would be 15.84 per cent more than that of the current financial year. He also appreciated the support of the State Government to NABARD. This has helped us to fulfill targets within the stipulated time.
