The collector and district election officer Alex Paul Menon on Tuesday appointed assistant returning officers (AROs) for the three-phase panchayat elections scheduled in January-February.
The appointed AROs will receive nomination forms of interested candidates contesting for the post of panch and sarpanch and janpad panchayat, officials stated. As per the order, SK Shrivastava has been appointed as ARO to receive nomination forms for Ramchandrapur Janpad Panchayat, SR Soni for Navadih Gram Panchayat, KR Diwedi for Tatapani Gram Panchayat, laxmanprasad Gupta for Jarhadih Gram Panchayat, MD Chouhan for Rajiv Gandhi Sewa Kendra, lurgikhurd, Mahesh Kumar Thakur for Chando Nagar Panchayat, Parimal Tiwari for Balangi Gram Panchayat, RB Marabi for Baratikala Gram Panchayat and RM Ram Varishatha for Primary School, Jhingo.
Meanwhile, a three members committee comprised of Menon, superintendent of police (SP), GS Darro and the project director, BS Sidar has been constituted to prepare a list of government officials/employees, who successfully performed their duty in recently concluded Vidhan Sabha and lok Sabha polls. The selected officials/employees will be honored on National Voters’ Day to be observed on January 25. Therefore, the committee has been asked to send its list of the selected officials/employees to the chief election commissioner by January 5.
