The Bharat Aluminium Company limited (BAlCO) organised the ‘Swachh Balco Competition-2014’ on Thursday, to make the township free from plastic and promote greenery.
During the competition a total of 140 members of 35 teams of BAlCO Township inspected 3711 houses and 102 shops. The programme was organised under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’.
A panel of judges was also formed to look over and judge various activities under the competition including cleanliness, well decorated courtyard, entrance, interiors and Rangoli designs.
The team of judges included Chitragupta Samaj, BAlCO Islamic Sanstha, Bengali culture Association, Bharat Aluminium Majdoor Sangh INTUC, Balco Karmachari Sangh INTUC, CITU, AITUC, HMS, Vedanta Aluminium Majdoor Sangh, Delhi Public School, Company Samvad Avam Samudayik Vikas, Balco Mahila Mandal, Adarsha Mahila Ramayan Samiti besides others.
