The police here arrested four persons on Monday and Tuesday and seized two revolvers and six rounds of live ammunitions from them.
On Monday, the police had nabbed one Kumar Ray of Badabazar when they found a country-made revolver from his house. He told the police that Umesh Bagarty of Saheb Bangala gave him the revolver. The police rushed to Umesh’s house and arrested him. A number of cases are pending against Umesh in different police stations of the town, the police sources said. Umesh also admitted that he gave the revolver to Ray.
At the same time, the police, acting on a tipoff, seized a car near Bhutapara Chowk on Monday evening. There was information with the police that a revolver and six rounds of ammunitions were inside the car. The cops kept close watch on the car and tried to trace its owner. Finally, it was know that Punit Chejra of Odisha Concrete ltd was the owner of the vehicle. The police arrested Punit and the supervisor (Munshi) of his business organisation Prakash Pandey and seized the revolver and ammunitions.
