A clash of ego between Mayor of Haldwani Municipal Corporation (MHA) and Mukhya Nagar Adhikari (MNA) has again come to the fore, casting shadows on the civic development of the town. The Haldwani municipal corporation came into existence just about three years back. However, Mayor of MHA Jogendra Rautela and Mukhya Nagar Adhikari (MNA) RD Paliwal who also happens to be the city magistrate of Haldwani does not seem to be comfortable with each other while discharging their official duties in the civic body.
When the MNA submitted some proposals at a board meeting for clearance the Mayor is alleged to have scuttled the move, stressing on some old proposals be cleared first. However, speaking on the issue, Mayor Rautela maintained that the administrative head is supposed to give right amount of time to the civic body affairs. Apparently rattled, MNA Paliwal retorted he is giving sufficient time to adequately deal with the civic affairs.
