An insult to the electorate, says Arun Yadav

Wednesday, 30 April 2014 | SR | Bhopal

The State Congress has said that the BJP leaders talking of auspicious dates for Modi's oath-taking as prime minister is an insult to the electorate of the country as the election itself has not been completed.

Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Arun Yadav in a statement here on Tuesday said, "Election on half of the parliamentary constituencies has yet to take place, counting of ballot is scheduled for May 16, but the temerity of the BJP leaders has started making arrangements for the crowning of Modi. In this impatience these leaders have forgotten that India has democracy and the decision for all the 543 lok Sabha seats of the country would be done by the votes of electorate."

Yadav further said that in these circumstances the statement of former BJP president Nitin Gadkari that Modi would take oath of prime minister on May 19, on the one hand insults the electorate of the country and on the other hand it reflects that in order to appease Modi the former BJP president and his party have set auspicious date and timings in advance without even waiting for the outcome of the public verdict. The BJP had done the same thing during the 2004 general elections when rising on a 'Feel Good' wave it set auspicious dates and time but what happened to those plans is well-known to all, he added.

He said that the BJP leaders did not exhibit such laughable eagerness even during the   'Feel Good' and 'India Shining' waves like what Gadkari has shown to appease Modi now. Gadkari has crossed all limits of sycophancy to leave behind all other saffron party leaders in exhibiting devotion to Modi, he added.

He said that the senior BJP leaders are feeling insecure in the party due to the stature of Modi as their identity is in danger due to that.
