Activist bats for more livelihood projects

Voluntary organisation Utkal Bipanna Sahayata Samiti (UBSS) organised Utkalmani Seva Samman ceremony along with its annual function at the Bhanjakala Mandap here Sunday.

Nalco Foundation COO Ashwini Kumar Chaudhury inaugurated the event in the presence of eminent social activist Jugal Kishor Jethaliya and HOD of the Kolkata-based Surendranath Evening College Dr Prem Shankar Tripathy.

Associate Professor and Physiotherapy HOD of Swami Vivekananda National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research, Cuttack Dr Patitapaban Mohanty was awarded with the second Utkalmani Seva Samman award on the occasion. Dr Mohanty received the award for his relentless service in health sector.

Besides, social activist Jethaliya underscored the need for more livelihood projects including project for empowerment and livelihood of tribal women groups in Kandhamal district. Secretary Mansukhlal Sethia sought public contribution to run various projects across the State.
