Say it the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) effect or the current political compulsions, but the people of Raghogarh Assembly constituency were amazed to see their young Congress legislator Jaiwardhan Singh holding broom on the roads of three main towns of the constituency.
This is not a new gimmick in the State politics and neither the Digvijay scion has joined the AAP. Indeed Singh junior, son of Congress general secretary and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, roamed in three towns of his constituency with broom in his hand so that the people could understand the importance of cleanliness and the administration too execute its duty seriously towards the issue.
The three cities where Singh junior walked on roads with broom included Guna, Ruthiyai and Aaron. He cleansed the roads of these three cities with broom on Thursday and took out dirt from the drains with his hands. He taught this lesson to the people on the occasion of the first death anniversary of his mother Asha Devi Singh by observing the day as Cleanliness Day.
When the young MlA started doing cleanliness and taking out dirt from drains people observing him doing so also joined him. In Guna he cleaned about half kilometer of road from main square of the town to Bidi Karkhana; during this he also took out dirt and filth from drains at over two dozen places.
For this he also advised the people and scolded the CMO of the municipality Brajesh Gupta. After Guna he, reached Ruthiyai and Aaron where the administrative also joined him with broom in hand in cleansing the roads and drains.
Singh Junior while talking to media persons on the occasion said, “It is our collective responsibility to keep our city clean, do not throw waste and dirt anywhere on the roads instead keep it in dustbins and hand it over to the cleaning staff when it comes.”
