82 school buses found unfit

Around 82 school buses were found unfit during the second day of fitness checking camp held by RTO and Traffic police at Police lines here on Sunday. The various school managements were directed to get GPS systems installed in their buses.

During the camp, documents related to buses besides driving licenses of bus drivers were also verified. Apart from document verification, the medical check-up of drivers was also performed by Ophthalmologists from MGM Hospital, Ramkrishana Care Hospital and Medishine Hospital. Traffic Department officials informed that about 15’ buses were checked in the camp out of which about 85 were found unfit.

The fitness examination of buses was carried out as per the guidelines of Supreme Court, they said. The various school managements have been asked to get their buses fit then only deploy them back on road. They have also been asked to get GPS systems installed in all buses by July 3 this year.
