30% HRA cleared for State Govt staff

The State Government has sanctioned 30 per cent House Rent Allowance (HRA) for the next five years for the employees and officers residing in own accommodation in Naya Raipur.

In the order issued in this regard by Finance Department, Joint Secretary SK Chakravarty in which it had been stated that in place of 10 per cent, 30 per cent HRA on the basic pay has been approved for the government servants residing in woen houses in Naya Raipur and besides those employees in Raipur residing in own houses but working in the office located in Naya Raipur.

Now the Government has decided to provide HRA at 30 per cent of the basic pay of such Government employees, who are residing in their own houses constructed in the colonies developed in Naya Raipur area and working in the offices in Naya Raipur or even Raipur.

The Finance Department, in its order mentioned that HRA at 30 per cent of basic pay or actual rent, whichever is less, would be given to the employees working in Raipur or Naya Raipur located Government offices and those residing in rented houses in the housing colonies developed in Naya Raipur area also.

However, such Government employees have to submit affidavit in this regard to the Drawing and Disbursing Officer in their respective offices that they have not been allotted Government houses in Naya Raipur area.

On allotment of Government houses, this facility would be withdrawn. On the affidavit, the department concerned would sanction HRA after confirmation from Home Department or Director, Estates. The employees can avail the HRA facility until October 31, 2019.
