A 21-year-old girl committed suicide by jumping into a well at Sharda Nagar under Ayodhya Nagar police station area on Saturday.

According to the police the victim Snehlata Rajput jumped into the well in the night on Saturday.Spotting the victim family members and locals rushed to her rescue and took her to a Peoples hospital where she was died later. The reason behind the suicide remains unclear. later the police were informed and after preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem.

Police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC.No suicide note was recovered from the victim which could help in establishing the reason behind the suicide. However, the circumstantial evidences suggests that the victim has committed suicide but possibilities of her being killed could not be ruled out at the moment and would be investigated further told the police.

According to the statements given by the family members, at around 12 o’clock in the night they heard sound of someone jumping into the well and rushed to her rescue. later they found that Snehlata had jumped into the well.

She was rushed to Peoples hospital where she died during treatment.Police said that after receiving the post mortem report more clarity on the death of the victim could be revealed as the family members are aware of the reason behind his suicide or it is possible that they are not willing to disclose the reason behind the death.

In the initial investigation the locals and family members have confirmed that the victim was not suffering from any physical or mental illness.
