Doon cops nab two drug peddlers
Dehradun: Acting on a tip-off, Dehradun Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 1.200 kg hashish and 20 gram smacks from their possession on Tuesday. The accused have been identified as Naushad and Intzar, residents of Sahaspur. Vikasnagar police Station circle officer SK Singh said that interrogation revealed that Naushad is a drug supplier, who involve poor persons in the supply chain to have these sold around industrial and educational institute areas. The poor persons were paid a few hundreds. The accused were booked under sections 8/20/60 of Narcotic Drugsand Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and they were sent to Suddhowala Jail after being produced in the court, he added.
SSP shunts cop for absent during duty
Dehradun: Dehradun SSP Pushpak Jyoti on Monday shunted Karanpur Police Chowki in-charge Baldev Singh to police line after he was found absent from his duty on Sunday night. The police officers have been directed to conduct vehicle campaign at important crossings to avoid untoward incidents during New Year celebrations in the state capital. Singh was found absent on his duty and vehicle checking drive was not being conducted by the policemen at Survey Chowk during night, it is learnt.
