CP enter Gati Krushna Div-A Football final
Bhubaneswar: Commisionerate Police (CP) entered the final of the 11th Gati Krushna Memorial Div-A Football league by defeating Kishore Club by 4-3 goals via through tie breaker at Unit-1 High School Ground here on Monday. The semifinal match ended in goalless draw in the stipulated time. Sukadev Murmu, Ramesh Chatar, Hrusikesh Behera and Deependra Sahoo of the winning team successfully converted their kick into goals. Similarly, Suresh Kujur, Amiya Kisko and Sasisakanta Sandil of Kishore Club netted a goal each in the tie breaker. Sudip Das, Durga Acharya, Sujit Patra and Susanta Kumar Mishra were officiated the match as referees. In the semifinal match on Tuesday, Director of Sports would meet Unit-6 Athletic Association.
World Youth Chess: Saina 17, Rutumbara 21st
Bhubaneswar : Odisha girl WFM Rutumbara Bidhar(1780 rating) started the tournament with 24th seeded and finished 21st position by scoring 6.5 points out of 11 rounds in girls’ category of the World Youth Chess Championship at International Convention Center, Durban in South Africa on Monday. Rutumbara gained 28 ElO rating points in this tournament. Rutumbara won five, drew three and lost three games. Padmini Rout had become champion in 2008 at Vietnam in U-14 Girls category. After Padmini Rout in the category no Odia players had won a medal. A total of 72 girls took part in the category in which four from India including Rutumbara Bidhar were participated. Indians got 3rd , 11th , 15th and 21st ranking in this section. In U-12 Girls category former World U-10 Girls Champion WCM Saina Salonika (1737 rating) started the tournament with 18th seeded and finished 17th position by scoring 6.5 points out of 11 rounds in girls’ category. Saina won five, drew three and lost three games. A total of 79 girls took part in the U-12 category from which seven from India including Saina Salonika. Indians got 5th , 9th , 17th, 21st , 33rd , 53rd and 76th ranking in this section. Saina gained 28 ElO rating points in this tournament. A total of 529 players participated in boys’ section (U-8, U-10, U-12, U-14, U-16 and U-18) from which 25 players from India and a total of 414 players participated in girls’ section in all age groups from which 26 players from India.
