Talk on Govt schemes held in D’nal
Dhenkanal: Public forum Pragatisila Nagarik Manch conducted a seminar on ‘Role of public during formulation of different schemes and projects’ here. Taking part in the discussion, social activists Dr Bhabani Shankar Mishra and Prasant Kumar Mishra said all projects launched by the Government so far could not bring impressive changes in the economic conditions of the people as the planners lacked practical experience about the need of the people. It was presided over by senior advocate Bionyanada Mohapatra.
SCW holds legal awareness camp in D’nal
Dhenkanal: The State Women Commission (SWC) organised a legal awareness camp for women here recently. Attending as a guest, SWC Chairperson Dr lopamudra Buxipatra said to empower women, it is necessary to educate them about the laws, rights and entitlements concerning women in the State. District Collector Rupa Roshan Sahoo stressed on united efforts to curb family violence and female foeticide. Among others, Zila Parishad president Binodini Samal, SP Manoranjan Mohanty and District Social Welfare Officer Jyotimayee Jyotsnarani Patra spoke. NAMI secretary Nirada Nanda Nanda coordinated.
D’nal NSS volunteers hold rally, plant trees
Talcher: During the on-going monsoon season, a 7-day Van Mahotsav programme was launched by the NSS wing of the Bapujee HS School in Dhenkanal district on June 28 last. The programme is meant to plant trees and spread awareness on protection and creation of new forests, said programme coordinator KC Sahani. The camp has 20 volunteers and in the first couple of days already hundreds of saplings have been planted, besides a rally organised, he said.
