VANDE MATARAM TO BE RECITED ON MAY 1

Bhopal: National Song Vande Mataram will be recited on May 1, 2014 at Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Park near Mantralaya. The General Administration Department has urged officers and employees of Mantralaya and employees under all heads of departments in Satpura and Vindhyachal Building to be present in the chorus singing of Vande Mataram on May 1 at 11 am.

CM bids farewell to Platoon Commander

Bhopal:  Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan felicitated Platoon Commander MV Kshetri posted in CM security with shawl and coconut. Kshetri had been posted in CM security continuously for the last 20 years. Since he is due to retire next month, he was given an emotional farewell at CM House for returning to this original place of posting Special Armed Force. At the farewell, OSD to CM Komal Singh, SP Rajesh Mishra and Deputy Secretary Neeraj Vashishth praised Kshetri for ably discharging very important duty of CM security for such a long time with dedication and commitment. Shawl and coconut were also presented to Kshetri by the security staff.

60 cases to be heard by Women’s commission 

Bhopal:  About 60 cases of Bhopal and other districts will be heard by Madhya Pradesh Women's Commission on April 30, 2014. A joint bench comprising Chairperson Upma Rai and members Vandana Mandawi and Kavita Patidar will hear the cases from 11 am.

Veteran Journalist Ramesh Chandra passes away

Datia:  Veteran journalist of Datia Ramesh Chandra Gupta passed away here on Monday night. He was 72. The last rites were performed on Tuesday afternoon. His family members informed that late Gupta was suffering from lungs-related ailments for past few years. A number of local journalists, political leaders and eminent citizens of the region were present on the occasion. Health Minister Narottam Mishra has expressed profound grief over the death of Datia's senior journalist Ramesh Chandra Gupta. He said that late Gupta remained active in creative journalism throughout his life. Mishra has prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul.

OrientalCollege  farwell to students

Bhopal: Oriental College of Technology, Bhopal organised a Farewell Function for the final year students on Tuesday. The pre final year students arranged a colorful cultural program and DJ for the seniors. On this occasion Praveen Thakral Chairman, Oriental Group of Institutes was present as the Chief Guest. Kavita Burse, Director, Oriental College addressed the gathering. Prizes were distributes to Academic Toppers of all Branches and Best Projects. Suraj Pandey was declared as Mr Farewell and Anshi Rai as Ms Farewell.

 

Boy nabbed for stealing cash worth Rs 1l

Gwalior:  The Ghatigaon police have nabbed a boy who stole Rs 1lakh from the bag of a farmer Yusuf Khan who had gone to Central Bank of India Ghatigaon branch to deposit the cash on April 23. Yusuf Khan of village Khudavali had gone to Ghatigaon Central Bank of India to deposit a sum of Rs 1,09,690 when the incident took place. He was standing in the cash counter line but his money was stolen from his bag. Yusuf Khan brought the amount by selling his crop in Galla Mandi on the report of Yusuf Khan the Ghatigaon police registered a case under section 379 of the IPC and started search of the accused. Additional SP Rural Yogeshwar Sharma had ordered the police station in-charge to arrest the accused immediately. On 27 April, on a tip off the police caught the accused, while standing at the Ghatigaon bus stand. The offender has been identified as Munna alias Ajeem, S/o Nisar Kha and interrogated him. He accepted to have committed the crime and police recovered Rs 1,09,690 from him.

PIl on security of EVMs filed

Gwalior:  Public Interest litigation (PIl) has been filled in the Gwalior bench of MP High Court raising questions on the security of electronic voting machines of lok Sabha elections in the strong room. The PIl would be taken up on Wednesday in which Election Commission of India, district election officer and Superintendent of police, Gwalior would be present. The petition has been filed by the advocate Anand Bhardwaj. He said that the strong room has been opened twice on the day of voting on April 17. Once a sound of beep-beep was heard and another time for keeping the EVM of re-poll. He said that there are no strong security arrangements at the place where EVMs are kept. There is no entry of the people who come and go there. The CCTV installed there is not working well.

Cops recover mobiles worth Rs 10l

Indore: In a breakthrough, Indore police have arrested a person and recovered stolen mobile phones from his possession worth Rs 10 lakh. The accused has been identified as Naveen, a resident of Sant Nagar. Police have recovered 100 mobile phones, three laptops and two tablets from his possession. Among the mobile phones recovered from his possession include 44 Nokia phones, 26 belong to Samsung Company, 20 China made, 7 Micromax phones and 4 Apple phones. The accused had looted mobile phones from Khatiwala Tank locality on February 2 this year. Though police had been in look out for him, he was arrested on today.

lS polls at Nehru stadium to be OVER in 181 rounds

Indore : Counting for Indore lok Sabha constituency which will take place at Nehru stadium will be completed in 181 rounds. Of all  eight   Assembly constituencies, the maximum number of 24   rounds of vote counting will be done for Indore -5 and Indore - 1 Assembly constituencies, while the lowest 19 rounds of    vote counting will be done for Deepalpur, Indore-3 and Rau Assembly Constituencies. Similarly, 19 rounds of   vote counting will be done   each for Sanwer, Indore-4 and Mhow Assembly Constituencies, while 22 rounds of vote counting will be done for Indore-2 assembly segment. According to deputy election officer, Sharad Shrotriya, there would be separate  rooms for vote counting for each assembly segment and each room will 14 tables for the counting. Detailed information about vote counting from EVMs was given to all the district election and deputy election officers today through   video conferencing by the chief    State election commissioner. A meeting of the standing committee in connection with counting of votes at Jawahar lal Nehru stadium will be held here on May 1. District collector Akash Tripathi has essentially asked all the district officials involved in election works to essentially participate in the standing committee meeting.
