Teenager gang-raped, one held

Chhattarpur: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and repeatedly gang-raped by five persons at two different places, including in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Sunday. One of the accused identified as Nazar Khan was arrested while four others are absconding, police said. The victim was known to Khan who had asked her to meet him at a farmhouse on March 27. According to police, Khan and his two friends allegedly raped the girl at the farmhouse and forced her to accompany them to Mauranipur in Uttar Pradesh where tthe other two also sexually assaulted her, police said. later, they took her to Orchha where they again took turns to rape her in a hotel and dumped her at Orccha bus stand after her condition deteriorated, police said.The victim somehow managed to get in touch with her relatives who took her to her parents' place at Harpalpur, police said. After reaching Harpalpur, the victim and her parents approached police following which an FIR was lodged. Khan was subsequently arrested and a hunt is on to trace the remaining accused, police said.

BJP leader Jatiya slams Centre

BHEl dispatches Coolant Pump motor

Bhopal: Bharat Heavy Electricals limited (BHEl), Bhopal’s lEM Division, on Sunday dispatched the 6000 Kilowatt, 6.6 Kilo volt, 3Phase Primary Coolant Pump motor weighing 50 tonne for Nuclear Power Corporation limited. The motor to be commissioned at the Kakrapara Atomic Plant was dispatched by a hydraulic axle trawler arranged by logistic Division.

Tainted IAS couple to be dismissed from service

Bhopal: Decks have been cleared for the dismissal of Madhya Pradesh’s graft tainted IAS couple, Arvind and TinuJoshi, from service. Madhya Pradesh Government had sent a proposal to the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions recommending their dismissal from service, official sources said on Sunday.The proposal has been accepted, they said. The Ministry is the coordinating agency of the Central Government in personnel matters. An income-tax raid at the residence of the Joshi’s in 2010 had led to the recovery of Rs3 crore in cash. Further investigations revealed the MP cadre bureaucrats were in possession of assets disproportionate to their known sources of income and running into several crores. Following the raid, the couple, now facing prosecution for corruption, was suspended.

Woman raped at home in Adarsh Nagar area

Satna: A woman has been raped while she was alone at her residence within Adarsh Nagar area in this district headquarters, police said. Yuvraj Satnami targeted the victim on Thursday night. A case was registered yesterday and the accused is absconding.

Man awarded 10 years' jail for rape

Ujjain: A court in this district has sentenced a man to ten years' imprisonment and a fine of Rs5,000 for raping a 23-year-old girl. Additional Sessions Judge lakshmi Sharma awarded the punishment to Rajendra on Saturday. According to the prosecution, the Brijnagar Makodiyaaag-resident woman lodged a complaint on May 8 last year that the man had sexually assaulted her after promising her marriage.
