CM assures college teachers

Chief Minister Hemant Soren met the representatives of Affiliated Colleges who along with large number of teachers are on strike since February 14 for availing their college the status of ‘constituent’ college so that they get State Government career benefits. He assured to double the salary of these teachers and provide special status to aided affiliated women colleges in the State.

 

FJCCI, CESC conduct meeting

The FJCCI conducted a meeting with the officials of CESC to discuss tariff once the company takes charge of power distribution in Ranchi. The meeting focussed on the company’s operations in the city. The CESC informed the members of the federation that it will organise a workshop to inform company’s operations in detail.

 

Kalam to attend at Marwari College function

Former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam has given his assent to attend certificate distribution programme at Marwari College. Kalam will be chief guest in the programme and will honour toppers with gold medal, informed Principal Ranjit Singh. The programme schedule is likely to be made public in few days.

 

CUJ VC Khathing to complete his 5-yr tenure

Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) Vice-Chancellor Prof Darlando T Khathing shall complete his five year tenure on Friday. According to sources, he has not yet received any written notification from the HRD ministry regarding extending his Vice Chancellorship so he will return to his parent university North Eastern Hill University, Shillong (NEHU). “He was appointed as CUJ V-C on March 1 in 2009. Since the ministry has to appoint VCs of 12 Central Universities of India including CUJ and nothing has been announced till date, the senior most Professor of CUJ Dr AN Mishra of life Sciences Department here will work as acting VC for time being,” an official source said.

 

AJSU to start public relations drive

In order to make the call of Statewide bandh on March 2 demanding special status for the State a success, AJSU is to start public relations drive from today in all districts in the State. The driver will be started at Jaipal Singh Stadium in Ranchi at 1 pm. The party workers will move on the streets to reach out to more and people requesting them support them on the issue of special status.
