‘Barabati infrastructure enough for Test venue’
Bhubaneswar : In the context of conducting test match, A-three member BCCI committee headed by Aniruddha Choudhury visited Barabati Stadium in Cuttcak on Thursday. We will place our report to the BCCI officials for further action. I am fully satisfied with the infrastructure of the stadium to hold test match, said Aniruddha.
last test match played at Cuttack in the year 1995. It has taken all most two decades to consider our stadium for test match, said OCA secretary Asirbad Behera. Practically we approached the BCCI in the year 2000 to consider the issue. Two mager hurdles were there for Cuttack to hosting the test match. We have already conducted 18 one-day matches. In Cuttack we are lacking of star hotels and the distance from Bhubaneswar to Cuttack. Now the newly constructed NH-5 has reduced the time factor and OCA Club and Barabati place will accommodate more than 150 officials, said OCA secretary Asirbad Behera. James Rego, Sridhar and Asirbad Behera were present in the press meet in Cuttack.
