2-minute silence observed

Bhopal: A 2-minute silence was observed to pay tributes to martyrs on Shaheed Diwas to mark death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Mantralaya Park here on Thursday. Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Shri Ajay Nath, Principal Secretary General Administration Shri K. Suresh, Principal Secretary to CM Shri Manoj Shrivastava and other senior officers-employees were present on the occasion.

 labour Dept to hold redressal camp today

Bhopal: The labour Department will hold a camp for redressal of woman labourers’ problems working in Govindpura industrial area. It will be held on January 31, 2014 on the premises of Govindpura Industries Association from 11 am to 3 pm. The camp is being organised during 100-day action plan in view of facilities to be extended under Equal Salary and Minimum Wages Act to woman labourers working with various industries, establishments and IT institutions. To ensure that all woman labourers can avail benefit of this camp, directives have been given to all industry operators in Govindpura industrial area to grant permission to women labourers employed there to take part in the camp. As per Equal Salary Act, equal pay should be given to both men and women for work of same nature. Operators of industrial units have been directed to ensure payment of equal salary and minimum prescribed wages to woman labourers working with them.

 exemption period of edible oils extended

Bhopal: For the convenience of poor people, especially daily earners and labourers, the State Government has extended period of exemption for purchase of loose edible oils for one year. The period of one year is expiring on February 5, 2014. The State Government has taken this decision in public interest in exercise of the power conferred by Food Security and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. It is noteworthy that poor people of the state still purchase loose edible oils out of the payment of wages on daily basis. Common man especially those belonging to labour class cannot purchase packed oil. Therefore, prohibition on sale of loose oil shall make their lives troublesome. The period has been extended in view of this.

 Shailendra to confer with e-Governance award

Bhopal: Innovations in information technology are being adopted by Madhya Pradesh Sports Department. In view of this, the Government of India is conferring National e-Governance Award to the Sports Department. Director Sports and Youth Welfare Shailendra Shrivastava will receive the award at Kochi in Kerala on January 31. It is noteworthy that experiments like assessment and analysis of players’ mental and physical capacities are being undertaken through information technology. It is as a result of this that players of various sports academies in the State are winning medals at national and international competitions.

Bhopal: Farmers’ Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Gaurishankar Bisen will go from Balaghat to Chhindwara and take part in local programmes on February 1. The same day, Bisen will attend Antyodaya and Kisan Mela at Seoni with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He will also accompany the Chief Minister at Antyodaya and Kisan Mela at Chhindwara in the afternoon. After participating in local programmes at Bhopal on February 2, Bisen will go to Seoni to take part in local programme. From there, he will go to Chhindwara. In the morning of February 3, Bisen will go from Chhindwara to Narsinghpur to chair a meeting of officers. later, Bisen will go from Narsinghpur to Chhindwara and chair meetings of District Planning Committee and Zila Rogi Kalyan Samiti. Bisen will reach from Jabalpur to Balaghat.

‘meri kala Anybhutiya’ to put on display today

Bhopal: Manav Sangrahalaya is organising a solo exhibition of paintings titiled as ‘Meri Kala Anubhutiya’ by Sheela Sharma. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Akhilesh at Veethi Sankul, IGRMS on January 31, 2014 at 3.00 pm. Akhilesh was born in Indore. He has been influenced by tribal and folk traditions of Madhya Pradesh; at the same time being aware of the trends in the Art World. Sheela Sharma is an artist known for her painting on ‘nature and life of women in India’, which she paints using her foot because she does not have hands. To motivate people with physical disability and to prove disability doesn’t mean incapability” painting exhibition is being organized. Sheela Sharma holds a degree in Fine arts and is alumnus of lucknow University.

 Search for absconding BSP MlA is on

Gwalior: The absconding director of Garima chit Fund Company and BSP MlA from Dholpur Banvarilal Kushawah is being searched by the police. A team of Gwalior police is campaigning in Jaipur for the last 8 days outside the Assembly hall. Banvarilal  Kushawah did not reach the Rajasthan Assembly to take oath to avoid the police. The police have been searching Banvarilal  Kushawah for the last one month in connection with crime related with chit fund, fraud and murder in Gwalior, Raipur and in many other districts. In search of absconding accused Banvari lal Kushawah the police have raided places in Bhopal, Indore, Agra, Delhi, Pune, Ahamdabad, but he is not traced. The hiding of Banvarilal  Kushawah in Dholpur came to light after he fought the election and won the seat. By the time the police reached there, he had already disappeared. Just to avoid the pressure of the police Banvarilal  Kushawah present his brother Balkishan and two other associates before the police.
