The district crime branch arrested two youths along with brown sugar worth Rs 1.10 lakhs. Both the accused were drug addicts and also retailed the banned drug, police said here on Thursday.
According to Superintendent of Police (Durg), Anand Chabda the accused were identified as Gurnam Singh alias lucky (19), a resident of Model Town Supela and Tushar Ambade alias Supada (19), a resident of New Amapara, Mohan Nagar. Police had inputs that some youths are selling brown sugar in Mohan Nagar, IM Chowk and Amapara area. Accordingly the sleuths of crime branch rounded up the accused red handed.
Police recovered 9.46 grams and 9.58 grams of brown sugar from their possession whose market value is around Rs 1.10 lakh. During interrogation they told cops that they had smuggled brown sugar from Nagpur. Police have booked them under the relevant sections of Narcotics Act.
