15 foetuses found dumped near SCB

Sunday, 30 November 2014 | PNS | CUTTACK

Even though the State Government has adopted strong laws to stop sex determination tests, recovery of as many as 15 foetuses from the Barrage Colony roadside on Friday has created suspicion over use of those laws by all concerned.

While some foetuses were in glass boxes, others were lying scattered on the roadside between the SCB Medical College and Hospital and the Bose Engineering School.

The foetuses were removed from the area after some time. locals have suspected that this could be the handiwork of some private nursing homes in the city. “There are countless nursing homes operating around the medical area here. If surprise raids are conducted on them on behalf of the administration, such illegal activities can be checked,” suggested some residents.

Surprisingly, there has been no investigation into the matter so far, which rises suspicion that efforts are being made to hush up the matter.
