The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Pankaj Singh Maheshwari on Wednesday sent mining baron and key accused in the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) Sudhir Sharma to a 15-day judicial custody, till August 13, in jail.
Sharma was produced in the court by the Special Task Force (STF) as his police remand came to an end.
Sharma had surrendered before a court here last week. He was absconding for a long time and the STF which is probing the MPPEB scam had announced a reward of `5,000 on him. He also made several attempts for getting anticipatory bail before surrendering.
The STF had formally arrested Sharma after the court handed over Sharma on a day's remand. Sharma maintains that he has been falsely implicated in the case.
Sharma, who was a school teacher, was very close to arrested former Higher and Technical Education Minister laxmikant Sharma. The court also directed the STF to submit the case diary related to the constable recruitment scam on Thursday in the court.
Meanwhile, a youth claiming to be Right to Information (RTI) activist and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh member shouted slogans against Sharma in the court premises. The youth, namely, Ashutosh Kumar, was shouting that Sharma earned crores of rupees by wrongful ways and ruined the future of lakhs of youths and that he is defaming the RSS.
The MP Nagar Police on getting information about the scene created by the youth reached the court and took him in custody. The youth remained in the custody of the MP Nagar police.
