Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Another train mishap” (December 31). There is no end to rail tragedies in the country. The Bangalore-Nanded Express calamity laid bare the tardy infrastructure facilities of the Indian Railways. Twenty six passengers were charred to death because of the lack of fire safety measure in the air-conditioned coaches when this incident took place. This reflects the blatant failure and negligence of the authorities.
