In view of protest by some religious groups on NH-24 on Monday, Delhi Police on Sunday issued a traffic advisory stating that both carriageways from Gazipur flyover to UP Border would remain closed to all types of vehicles for the day.
Some Muslims groups who are protesting the ownership of Karbala land in Jorbagh area in Delhi will be marching on NH-24 and are expected to try to enter the national Capital. For today, the traffic coming from Nizamuddin to Ghaziabad will take compulsory right/left turn from NH-24 to UP link Road at Akshardham Setu while traffic coming from Pusta Road to Ghaziabad will have to go straight up to Noida Gate, the advisory said.
“Traffic coming from Mother Dairy Road will not go on NH-24, will be diverted towards Chand Cinema, Hindon Canal Road — on one-way Hindon Canal road and enter UP,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Shukla.
