Media coverage on admission reform 'half-baked'

Wednesday, 30 April 2014 | SR | New Delhi

Waving off speculation about reforms being made in the forthcoming admission process in Delhi University, the Dean of Student Welfare Prof JM Khurana on Tuesday said that everything that has come out in the media so far is half-baked and the official policy regarding the same would be released in two to three days time.

This statement came after reports regarding the rejection of an admission proposal made by a ‘special committee’ came out. Earlier reports read that the four-year undergraduate programme (FYUP), which was implemented in 2013, would be

fine-tuned this time round. It was speculated the number of courses and colleges a student can apply for will be reduced to six and 10 respectively. However, these assumptions were deemed incorrect by authorities of the University.

Khurana said, “There is nothing that has officially been declared by us so far. There is no committee as well that is being written about everywhere.”
