lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung on Thursday assured Congress delegation led by Delhi Congress president Arvinder Singh lovely and former Power Minister Haroon Yusuf that a circular will be issued to give extension of one year to 10,000 guest teachers and 5,000 Home Guards and they would not be removed from their jobs.
The Arvind Kejriwal Government had announced to continue their job but no circular was issued in this regard. The l-G has also assured that he is working on a proposal to give a consolidated amount per month to daily wages employees. The Congress leaders have demanded to issue a circular for extending their contract period for one more year till the Government brings any policy on this regard.
Talking to mediapersons after meeting Jung, lovely expressed the desire that the teachers and Home Guards should not be removed from their jobs and the salaries of the guest teachers should be made at the same level as employees in other Government departments.
“The 49-day old Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi Government had betrayed the teachers and Home Guards, other Government, semi-Government employees of other related departments, daily-wage employees and temporary employees, and because of that betrayal, over 4 lakh employees in these categories are not only cursing Arvind Kejriwal, but are also waiting to teach him a lesson in the coming elections for his betrayal and pack of lies,” he said.
lovely asked the teachers and the Delhi Home Guards to form a united force along with unions of other temporary employees. He announced that a committee will be constituted at the Pradesh Congress to solve the problems by uniting the temporary employees of all the Government departments. He appealed to all the temporary employees to contact the DPCC office as the Congress was committed to solving their problems in a satisfactory manner to all.
l-G directs Govt to submit plan on observation homes
New Delhi: Delhi lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung on Thursday directed the Delhi Government to submit a comprehensive plan within two weeks on improving the management of observation homes being run in the city. While reviewing the functioning of these homes, Jung directed senior Government officials to focus on issues of security, infrastructure, and other facilities being extended to the residents at these homes while preparing the plan.
