What comes as a relief to several parents struggling to fill forms for nursery admissions of students from the economically weaker section of society, the Delhi Government on Tuesday issued clarifications regarding some crucial aspects of the EWS nursery admissions.
The Government, in a circular issued by them, said that they issued clarifications in order to facilitate the admissions of EWS category students in private unaided recognised schools of Delhi. One of the main problems of the parents that the circular clarified was that BPl cards were not the only proof of the parents to show that they fit in the EWS category.
The circular said, “Food security cards issued by Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, GNCT of Delhi shall also be considered as documentary proof for applying under EWS category in entry level classes of private unaided recognised school in Delhi, in addition to the income certificate issued by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar, BPl Ration Card or AAY Ration Card.”
Additionally, the circular clarifies that the schools shall display a single list, mentioning the names in alphabetical order of selected general category and EWS children.
