Heena Khan appears in court in a hijab

The main accused in the murder of Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Anil Kumar Yadav, Heena Khan, on Tuesday surrendered before a local court. The accused, who allegedly has connections with Pakistan and Bangladesh and was earlier arrested with fake currency, appeared in court in a hijab early morning. Meanwhile, investigation has revealed that Heena was in contact with senior bureaucrats of UP State, political leaders and businessmen of Delhi-NCR and was living in a flat of a senior official of Noida Authority.

Since the incident was related to the murder of an office bearer of the ruling party, police was under intense scrutiny to arrest Heena. The family of the slain leader had also accused the police of not arresting her earlier despite providing information of her whereabouts. later the irate family and SP leaders had kept two Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), five Station House Officers (SHOs) and several dozen cops hostage for nearly three hours three days back.

Heena, who has flats across Delhi-NCR, was living in the staff quarters of Noida Authority, which is allotted to a senior authority official. Heena dabbles in real estate, wheels and deals with the powers that be. last year, she was arrested by Ghaziabad Police for running a fake currency racket in cahoots with Bangladeshi and Pakistani outfits. Her links with foreign nationals have also been unearthed by UP Police.

Anil Kumar Yadav (28), a senior office bearer of the Samajwadi Party, was found dead in mysterious circumstances in his flat in Noida’s Sector 71 last week. After the incident, Heena Khan, a close aide of the leader, had called Anil’s brother informing him about the murder.
