Manoushe, falafel, freshly baked Pita bread and the foot tapping music by Boom Shankar Project band along with bright happy smiles were the order of the day at the 2nd outlet launch of Zizo in the posh locale of Greater Kailash 1, M Block Market in the capital.
With Rishabh Shankar and Ashwani on the vocals, the delightful dancing, the wines, lebanese canapés and the mesmerising performance by Boom Shankar Project in Delhi on the 3oth of October, it was a well attended evening that saw a host of Delhi’s who’s who.
The festivities were designed to give the guests a feel of lebanon and Zizo India CEO and the host Fouad Abdel Malak made sure that every guest is well taken care of and greeted everyone in person.
Among those who were seen having a gala time included designers Raakesh Agarwal, Gaurav Jagtiani, Amit Aggarwal, Gautam Gupta, Niket Mishra, Amit Hansraj choreographers Rashmi Virmani, socialite Salloli Kumar, Nalin Gupta, Anirudh Birla, Pranav Hamal fitness guru Vesna Jacob, models Khushbu Kankan, Himani Thapa, Suraj Dhalia, DJ Ashish Nagpal, stylist Aamir Zakir and a host of food connoisseurs.
The lavish spread prepared under Chef Danny Elsoury’s careful direction had everyone craving more. The guests were drooling on the Shawarmas, Falafels, Hummus with Tahini, Spicy Moutabal, Fatoush, Halawas and many sinful indulgences that were on the spread, like a lebanese village during festivities. Fouad Abdel Malak, CEO of Zizo said; “Traditionally, Zizo (a pet beetle) means a lot to every lebanese child and it always makes us crave to go back to the days where food was always an organic delight but yet flavourful. It is our promise that we at Zizo will be serving the best localy sourced product with the best imported grade A and organic produce from lebanon like olives, zataar, pomegranate mollases and among many others. Food tastes much better when it is served with the original ingredients, and lots of love.”
Zizo – the Fast Casual lebanese Food Chain, is named after a green beetle which used to be a common feature of lebanese countryside and represent a bite of simple life. These beetles were the favourite playmates of many a lebanese child which takes even grown-ups down the fond childhood memory lanes. Zizo is a brainchild of the CEO/ Co Partner Fouad Abdel Malak and his four partners who wanted to fill a yawning gap to the Indian Food market. The team wants to have 7 outlets within two year in Delhi NCR and would want to include Mumbai, Bangalore before touching international centres like Singapore, Dubai, UK and the USA.
