The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal has once again threatened to consider withdrawing support to the Congress-led State Government if the party is not called by the Government to discuss the demands of the party by February end.
Addressing mediapersons on Monday, the UKD central head Trivendra Singh Panwar said that the party had faxed a memorandum on various important regional issues to the chief minister. The party is against the stance of the Congress-led State Government on the issues of reservation in promotion in government jobs and eligibility for domicile status among others.
“We had given support to the Congress for establishing a stable Government following the divided public mandate in the Assembly elections. However, our support was issue based and these issues have been ignored by the Government.”
The UKD chief said that the party would wait till the end of February but if the Government doesn’t call the party to discuss the issues in its memorandum to the chief minister, the party would consider withdrawing support to the Congress-led State government in the first week of March.
Referring to the sole MlA of the party and Cabinet Minister Pritam Singh Panwar who was suspended from the party for his ‘anti-party’ stance, TS Panwar said that the party is bigger than the individual and would not take its decisions based on his views.
