Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) former State president Prabhat Jha has been tested negative for swine flu on Monday. Jha is suffering from common flu. His samples were sent to the RMRCT laboratory in Jabalpur for testing on Saturday.
Meanwhile, two more patients from the State capital have been confirmed of swine flu on Monday. Both the patients are admitted in national hospital of State capital. This has increased the number of positive patients from State capital to five.
Chirayu Hospital Director Dr Ajay Goenka said that Jha’s samples were sent to the laboratory for testing on Saturday, Jha is suffering from severe cold and cough and fever. Virus of H1N1 influenza was not found in his swab.
Besides Jha’s sample, seven more samples were sent to the laboratory by swine flu control room Bhopal for testing, among them two samples have been confirmed positive of swine flu. Both the patients are residents of Sehore district and are of same family. Presently, they are getting treated at National hospital.
Acting Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr KV Bajpai said that one sample has been sent to the RMRCT on Monday for testing. Till now 52 samples have been tested from the State capital among them eight samples have been confirmed positive of swine flu.
Dr Bajpai further said that in last two days four samples have been confirmed positive of swine flu. All the patients are admitted in hospitals and are getting treated. One swine flu patient this year in the State has succumbed to the disease.
