In an effort to establish connect with the masses and get their grievances addressed effectively, the Government of Jharkhand launched an interactive web portal on Saturday. It is a collaborative endeavour with the Union department of administrative reforms and public grievances.
http://jharkhandsamadhan.nic.in is available in both Hindi and English. It was inaugurated by Governor Syed Ahmed in the presence of senior officials, including Principal Secretary to Governor NN Sinha, who also happens to be Principal Secretary of science and technology department, director (O&M) of Union department of administrative reforms & public grievances, South Chhotanagpur Divisional Commissioner Vandana Dadel and Ranchi DC Vinay Kumar Chaubey, among others.
The user-friendly portal is open to all (including foreign nationals) for registering their complaints, lodging reminders and clarifications and viewing status of their complaints. According to officials, the portal will be a one-stop solution for all problems faced by the common man in day-to-day work related to Government machinery.
The grievance petitions received by the Governor’s Secretariat are generally matters relating to pension, women issues, irrigation, water supply, electrification, development of roads, financial assistance, self-employment, atrocities on women, filling up vacancies and many other individual problems, like sanction of funds from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, medical treatment, study assistance, police cases or allegations of corruption.
Purpose of the application is to provide an online redress-monitoring system between Governor’s Secretariat and common citizens to facilitate transparency.
Main features of the system include empowering citizens to lodge grievances, online from anywhere anytime and also enabling the Government departments to take redress action within a prescribed time limit, online lodging of complaints, reminders, view status and action taken reports, enabling public grievance officers to register complaints received by post/hand and to monitor.
CPGRAMS facilitates generation of automated letters like acknowledgement and final reply letters and many more for official correspondence with complainants. The system is flexible enough to be extended down below according to requirement of Governor’s Secretariat/departments/organisations.
The Governor expressed happiness that the people of Jharkhand would now be able to use IT advancements for their betterment. He also hoped the system would help solve pending problems.
