Raman Govt plans health camps in April

Health and Family Welfare Department of Chhattisgarh  Government will organise special health checkup camps at district level in the month of April to identify the patients suffering from serious diseases. The camps will have expert and specialist doctors available for examining the patients for 30 severe diseases related to heart, kidney and cancer. The patients identified to be suffering from any of the severe diseases, will be provided aid from Sanjeevani Kosh on spot for free of cost medical treatment of the disease.

In the context, Principal Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department Ajay Singh has instructed all the Chief Medical and Health Officers to finalise the date for holding district-level health checkup camps. He has instructed the officials to ensure maximum publicity of these camps in District Headquarters as well as rural areas.

The Chief Minister has given the instructions to hold district-level health checkup camps to ensure that maximum number of people is benefited by the financial aid provided under Sanjeevani Kosh. Following which, the district-level health checkup camps will be organised across the state in the month of April. It should be noted that earlier, financial aid upto Rs 1.5 lakh was provided for treatment of 13 kinds of diseases under Sanjeevani Kosh.

But State Government has taken the commendable decision to include total 30 kinds of severe diseases under the scheme, and provide financial aid for treatment of the same. Moreover, the financial aid for treatment of kidney-related diseases or kidney-transplant has been increased from Rs1.5 lakh to Rs3 lakh, whereas the financial aid for treatment of serious head injury has been increased from Rs1.5 lakh to Rs2 lakh.

Earlier, financial aid under Sanjeevani Kosh was provided only to the critical patients belonging to BPl families. But now, the cardholders of Mukhyamantri Khadyann Sahayta Yojana will also be eligible for the financial aid under Sanjeevani Kosh along with the BPl cardholders, those who are suffering from any of the 30 specified diseases.

Sanjeevani Kosh includes financial aid for the entire treatment procedure and operation for all types of cancer, thoracic surgery, kidney operation, kidney transplant, knee transplant, severe internal head injury, organ transplant, operation of spinal chord, cornea operation, post-delivery complications, heart operations, industrial mishap, or accident caused due to agricultural equipments or injury caused due to bomb explosion, haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis for kidney patients, hepatitis B-C (injection), stricture urethra, victims of fire accident, portal hypertension, diabetes mellitus insulin, juvenile diabetes, shunt surgery for portal hypertension, lobotomy for lungs, paediatric renal transplant, multi-organ failure, prostate surgery, pancreatic duct and bila duct shunt, shunt for lithotripsy, portal hypertension shunt surgery etc.
