Hectic lobbying is going on for the next prime minister of the country, Congress party’s Rahul Gandhi and Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Narendra Modi are said to be the favourites of their parties for the top job, but one thing is for sure that the next Prime Minister of the country would be a secular person, said lok Janshakti Party (lJP) president Ram Vilas Paswan here on Monday.

While talking to the mediapersons, Paswan said the lJP would contest the Assembly elections with full might on all the 230 constituencies of the State and its major issues would be large-scale corruption in the State and atrocities on Dalits.

Reacting over Gujarat Chief Minister’s name for the top job of the country, Paswan said, Modi is responsible for Gujarat riots and hence, could never become prime minister of the country while he did not objected over Nehru-Gandhi scion Rahul Gandhi’s name and adopted silence.

He said that journalists are being oppressed in Bihar and that the report of Justice Katju is absolutely correct. A system should be mooted in the country for advertisements to the newspapers so that no Government could dare to pressurise the media, he added.

He said that the gas victims should get their rights and the compensation for the gas victims provided by the Central Government should be utilised in right manner and demanded that an e-powered committee should be constituted for the implementation of the recommendations made for the utilisation of the gas victims’ funds.

The lJP president said that widespread corruption is going on in Madhya Pradesh (MP), especially the Ministers here are directly involved in the corruption. Government is not giving permission against Ministers for enquiries in corruption a cases that is why MP has converted into corruption state. During the BJP regime here atrocities on Dalits and minorities have increased, he added.

In the election year, the lJP has taken lead with all the political parties by announcing first list of candidates. The lJP president during his daylong stay in the State capital on Monday announced candidates for 21 Assembly constituencies.
