Minister blames police for Bhojshala chaos

Tuesday, 19 February 2013 | SR | Bhopal

The ongoing internal feud between Indore strongman and powerful Minister of the Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Kailash Vijayvargiya and Indore Inspector General of Police (IGP) Anuradha Shankar came to fore ever since the police cane-charged and lobbed teargas shells to disperse crowd at Bhojshala on Friday last.

Continuing his defiance attitude over the issue, Vijayvargiya took the opportunity to hit out at Anuradha Shankar, said here on Monday as how Chief Minister can tolerate the officers in whose presence slogans were shouted against him (CM) in Dhar. The Minister did not stop here and furthered his anger by stating that the administration failed totally in handling the situation in Dhar that otherwise could have been handled easily.

He said, “In 2006, when I was the Minister in-charge of Dhar, similar situation was witnessed, but neither any party worker was hit nor did the situation get out of control.” Alleging that the police administration worked overzealously resulting in the chaos, the Industries Minister said that there is certain way to handle the things and it is not necessary to indulge in skirmishing.

Vijayvargiya furthering his attack on the IG, alleged that the cane-charge was not at all needed and it was a total extrinsic step. The administration though executed well its Rajdharma but failed to understand its Samajdharma, he added.

The Indore strongman reacting over Government’s faith in the administration over the issue said that the condition of Government is not like that the Government did not get the Maya nor did it get the Ram. The Government only got disrepute in the issue in which its intents were very clear while the party workers were beaten up.

He demanded that the Chief Minister should seek report of the whole episode from the Minister in-charge of Dhar and should take action against those officials whose inefficiency led to chaos.
