The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal has alleged major irregularities in the construction of the Geology and Mining Unit building of the Industry Department in Dehradun and demanded that the construction be stopped and a high level inquiry be ordered by the chief minister into the alleged corruption. UKD leader PK Dobhal alleged that the department director and other senior officials are involved in major irregularities in the construction of this building in the Bhopalpani area. Such a major work was finalised without publishing tenders or signing a contract.
“Surprisingly the project manager and others working on the construction have inadequate experience in construction which is of inferior quality. Considering the inexperience of those working on the project and the fact that procedures were not followed in the project, one can say that the work is marred by major anomalies. The Chief Minister should order a high level inquiry into these anomalies. An impartial inquiry will expose major scams and irregularities in the Industry department considering the information I received in response to an application submitted under the Right To Information Act,” said Dobhal.
