Higher Education Minister laxmikant Sharma has said that a hostel will be built for students at the Institute for Excellence in Higher Education. Besides, a 2,000-seater auditorium costing Rs8 crore will also be constructed.
Sharma was speaking at degree award ceremony and annual function at the institute here on Monday. The Higher Education Minister also inaugurated biotech lab, maths building and canteen on the institute’s premises.
Sharma exhorted students to be disciplined in achieving success in life. He Sharma said that colleges will be opened in remote areas for expansion of higher education facilities. He said that 150 years ago, Swami Vivekananda had brought laurels to India from entire world. Sharma also exhorted students to use latest technique in their studies. He lauded students giving tuition to children of nearby areas describing it as inspiring.
The Higher Education Minister gave away Director Medal to Manish Dube. He also distributed medals instituted in the memory of professors’ relatives to students who secured highest marks in class. Sharma gave away three merit awards instituted in the name of former principal of the institute NP Singh to students. Each award carries Rs5,000. He also distributed degrees to students of various classes apart from releasing ‘Excel Essence’ magazine.
Principal Secretary JN Kansotiya informed that 43 colleges have been opened during last year. Kansotiya said that professors should take classes regularly and ensure students’ attendance.
Barkatullah University vice-chancellor Nisha Dube also expressed here views while medal winner student Manish Dube narrated his experiences.
Director Pramila Maini informed that placement of 218 students of the institute has been made in companies like TCS, Symbiosis and IBM. She informed that a finishing school will be started in cooperation with CII. Martial arts coaching have been imparted to 70 girl students of the institute.
