A group painting exhibition ‘Through Colours’ is being organised at Swaraj Vithi (Swaraj Art Gallery), Ravindra Bhavan here on Monday. The exhibition is being organised by the ‘Art 20-20 group’, Bhopal. The exhibition was inaugurated by Bharat Bhavan’s trustee secretary Pankaj Rag.
A group of eight artists came together to display their creations before the art lovers of the city. The artists of the group hail from Narsinghpur, Burhanpur and Bhopal. The artists have brought a lot of variations of art at the gallery. From modern art to abstract art and from figurative to traditional paintings could be seen under one roof.
The artists have displayed their best of creations at Swaraj Art Gallery leaving the spectators mesmerised. The exhibition is all about a combination of art variations on canvas, in form of paintings and drawings. The exhibition is like a feast for the art lovers to experience the variations of art at the gallery.
While talking to The Pioneer, founder member of Art 20-20 group and a noted painter Sajid Premi said, “Through colours the group exhibition, is organised to bring down the artists altogether under roof and showcase their creations. We endeavour to encourage the artists of the State and so, we often organise such group exhibition across the country.”
Artists like Aziz Khan, Kishwar Farrukh, Meeta Johar Dutta, Monika Jain, Prashant Sthapak, Priti Das, Sadhna Shukla and Usha lokhande have presented their work before the spectators. While talking about her work ‘Jungle Fables’, Meeta said, “I have worked on abstract art keeping in mind the beauty of nature. One can notice the landscapes in my paintings, mainly the texture of wood and silence of jungle.”
On the other hand, Usha lokhande said, “I have worked on the expressions of women and have portrayed her distinctive feelings on different occasions.” The spectators could see through the beauty and decency of Indian women. Another artist Monika Jain from Narsinghpur has presented Madhubani paintings of Bihar at the exhibition. Her work was immensely appreciated by the visitors.
The viewers were astonished by the work presented by the artists. The exhibition would conclude here on February 20.
