Printing false date on the recently distributed electricity bills to those residents who live near Ballawala has created a state of confusion among the residents as the department concerned has mistakenly printed February 30 on the electricity bills.
Department officials told that the matter would be resolved very soon. The number of electricity consumers in the state has bee increasing year after year. At the time of inception of Uttarakhand, 8,16,949 were the electricity consumers and with the increase of 95 per cent, the number of electricity consumers is now 1,59,3853 in the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of Uttarakhand.
While speaking to The Pioneer, Anil Kumar, ED (Commercial) said that he will surely look into the matter and will resolve the matter in order to redress the grievances of the customers. He admitted that printing mistake would have due to computer operators and further said that it will not happen in the near future.
Kumar further said that department lays special focus on the timely distribution of electricity bills to customers including those who are living in the rural parts of the state so that they can have enough time to pay their electricity bills before the due date.
