Activists of the CPI(M) and Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) staged a dharna in front of the office of Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) here on Saturday demanding immediate withdrawal of the recent decision on power tariff hike.
They accused the State Government of making the lives of common man miserable by adopting wrong policies with regard to power supply and consumption.
Raising slogans against the power policy adopted by the State Government, the activists demanded that uninterrupted power supply be ensured to the agriculture sector and the hike in the tariff be rolled back.
CPI(M) State secretary Janardan Pati, Suresh Panigrahi and Pravat Panigrahi among many others participated in the protest.
