Three persons including Director, Caretaker and worker of Bethel Children Home, Titurideeh under Mohan Nagar police station Durg have been arrested for allegedly tormenting Bethel Children Home inmates. Mohan Nagar police have booked the caretaker of the hostel Dilip for sexually abusing children. The Director, P Swamy Nadlu and worker Erafuke was charged with various sections under Conversion Act, informed Rakesh Bhatt, City Superintendent of Police (CSP), on Saturday.
The CSP said after a thorough investigation police found that Care Taker was involved in abnormal sex with a 14 year old boy who used to live in the children home. The Director, P Swamy Nadlu and a worker, Erafuke were allegedly found guilty of indulging in forced conversion.
They reportedly assaulted the children and forced them to change their religion, CSP informed and added that the care taker has been booked under sections 377, 506 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) said the CSP.
The case came to light when few days back four girls complained about the alleged torture being matted out in Bethel children home. later a joint team under the directives of Child Protection Commission had launched massive investigation in the children home. Central Coordinator of Child line, Durg, Suresh Kapse while interacting with the children, learnt that they have been forced to stay in the children home despite the fact that their parents wanted them to take home. The children also alleged that they were not given sufficient food and were beaten consistently when raised the issue, stated the Coordinator. The Child line authorities demanded Child Protection Commission to recommend registration of FIR against the persons involved.
later on Prabuddh Nagrik Manch (PRANAM) an private organisation has also filed a written complaint in Mohan Nagar Police Station against the Bethel Children Home authorities.
