State Govt withdraws facilities from private hospitals
Raipur: The State Government has withdrawn the Governmental facilities given to the 40 big private nursing homes and hospitals which have refused treatment of the poor through smart card system and have returned the master machines.
Now, treatment under the Sanjeevni, Baal Hriday and Mukhyamantri Sahayata Kosh schemes would not be available in these hospitals. The State Government has issued orders in this respect to these big hospitals on March 29. Prolonged dispute was going on between state govt health department and private hospitals over the rates of treatment of BPl and APl card holders under the smart card system. Following the dispute, except small and medium level private nursing homes and hospitals, all the big private hospital managements have been united against the government decision.
Maoist camp busted in Abujhmaad
Raipur: A Maoist camp was busted by security forces in Abujhmaad on March 24 situated about 30 kms from south of district headquarter, Narayanpur. Six ultras including two female insurgents and a minor were arrested from the camp. Huge amount of arms, ammunition and daily use items were recovered from their possession. The joint force of STF and district police started on search operation in Nelnar area of Abujhmaad. On March 23 they reached on the bank of Madin River in Nelnar and spotted the camp. The security forces then slowly started to cordon-off the camp but somehow insurgents became aware about the presence of police force and opened fire on the police party. The joint force also replied the fire and the gun battle lasted for about 40 minutes. later police was successful in arresting 6 persons from the spot while other managed to disappear in the dense forest.
3 tiffin bombs defused
Raipur: Averting a major evil plot of Maoists three tiffin bombs were defused by security forces in the insurgent Narayanpur district on March 25. Maoist posters and pamphlets were also recovered from the site. One bomb weighing 20 kgs, and two others of 5 kgs each were detected by the police party. The police party had information that Maoists posters and banners were lying around Kochwahi nullha near Kukdajhor camp, Narayanpur. Police after reaching the spot searched the area where the bombs were unearthed. later on the bomb disposal squad (BDS) was summoned which reached the spot and diffused the bombs.
State Govt to launch major offensive against Maoists
Raipur: The State Government is getting ready for a big operation against the increasing Naxal activities. The State intelligence department has the information that Naxalites may strike in a big way in the State in the coming days. Police personnel were deployed in large numbers for Naxal operation in districts. According to ADG Naxal Operation RK Viz, the possibility of Naxalites strike are more in the summer, hence the operation would be conducted in a big way. The State Government had demanded 10 more battalions from the Central Government for combating the Naxals and for security of the State, against which the Centre had sanctioned four battalions and all the four battalions have reached Chhattisgarh. With this addition, total 24 battalions were deployed in the State for Naxal operation and security. According to sources, besides Durg, Rajnandgaon, Bilaspur, ASPs, DSPs, head constables and constables in hundreds were deployed for naxal operation in other districts also. Help from UAV was also being sought for keeping an eye on the Naxalites.
Naya Raipur roads to have lED street lights
Raipur: The roads of Naya Raipur would soon be illuminated by the power saving limiting Diode lighting (lED) lighting. The new lighting system would be installed in an estimated 12 kms long roads in the first phase shortly. In the first phase lights would be installed on the road near Sanjeevani Hospital and the one in 100 metre length of road in front of Shaeed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium on both sides besides another estimated six kilometres of road .The led lighting saves about 25 per cent of the power cost and to enable commuters have the convenience of better lighting on the roads. According to Chief Engineer of Naya Raipur Development Authority Chief Engineer Salil Srivastava this is the first project in itself of lighting the entire city with the lED Street lighting in the country.
