Social worker’s plaint to DOON ssp

Dehradun: A local social worker has complained to the Dehradun senior superintendent of police about an international phone in which she was abused. Tripta Sharma has averred that she suspects the call was related to information she sought under the Right to Information Act regarding a hotel operated by a British citizen at Muni ki Reti in Rishikesh. In the letter to the SSP, Sharma has stated that she had received a threat by phone last year regarding information sought by her under the RTI Act and had complained about it to the State Information Commission where it was not taken seriously.

 

‘Salary of 6 cops to be withheld’

Dehradun: Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police Kewal Khurana has ordered withholding one day’s salary of six police personnel who were deputed at different police stations. The action was ordered against the policemen for negligence on duty.

 

Theft at Doon Valley Jewellers

Dehradun: A report of jewellery theft in Doon Valley Jewellers was lodged in the Aaraghar police chowki on Monday. The chowki incharge MS Rawat said that in his compliant, the shop owner Amitabh Dutta said a person visited his shop and ran away with jewellery with an estimated value of around Rs3 lakh. According to him, footage from the CCTV camera installed in the shop is being reviewed and an FIR will be lodged based on the footage.
