The 103rd Raising Day of Corps of Signals was observed at the Military College of Telecommunication (MCTE) in Mhow with colourful celebrations. Various programmes were organised on the occasion in which the officers, jawans and their families participated with enthusiasm.
The Corps of Signals is considered as the nervous system of Indian Army as it works as media provider during operations and peace for the Army. The Corps has transformed into an enviable force by developing capabilities of electronic warfare, interception, cyber security, information warfare and spectrum management.
The chief guest of the program was lt Gen Rajesh Panth AVSM and Colonel Commandant Core of Signal and AWWA president Vandana Panth. The chief guest flew the white pigeon as the symbol of peace. While addressing the gathering, the Commandant urged the signalmen to be prepared to face the challenges of communication technology, which is rapidly changing.
Vandana Panth heard the problems and advices of the family of signalmen. Many of the officers of MCTE have excelled in national and international events; officers who brought laurel to MCTE recently are captain Samita who climbed the highest peak of Mount Everest. Signalman Umesh Babu secured 1st position and captain Vaishali secured 2nd position in the national marathon championship at Indore.
