Child sex ratio shows improvement in Haryana

After an abysmal showing in the 2011 census, the child sex ratio (CSR) in Haryana has registered a slight improvement with 850 females per 1,000 males in the State.

The CSR recorded in 2011 was 830 females per 1,000 males.

Talking at a public function in Panchkula, the State Health Minister Rao Narender Singh said, “The positive change was a result of innovative schemes being implemented by the State Government.”

Meanwhile, the Minister added that the budget of the State Health department had been increased to `1,600 crore from `300 crore.
