The ruling Samajwadi Party has criticised Rashtriya lok Dal (RlD) chief and Union Civil Aviation minister Ajit Singh for calling Mulayam Singh Yadav a ‘corrupt’ leader.
“The statement of the Union Minister is irresponsible in nature and only highlights his frustration,” said SP spokesperson and UP Jail Minister Rajendra Chaudhary in lucknow on Monday.
He said the RlD leader has lost his connect with the people and farmers and now he is making wild allegations on an honest leader like Mulayam Singh Yadav.
“The comment of the RlD leader is also an insult to the people of the state, who had given their overwhelming support to the SP in the 2012 Assembly polls to wipe out the corrupt BSP Government,” said Chaudhary.
However, BSP leader Swami Prasad Maurya refused to comment on the statement of Ajit Singh saying the latter’s comments do not deserve to be taken notice of.
Earlier on Sunday, while addressing a public meeting at Shamli, Ajit Singh had said Mulayam Singh Yadav was more corrupt than Mayawati.
