Two minor girls were raped in two separate incidents in the Millennium City, Gurgaon, in the past 24 hours. The rapes have once again proved that women and girls are not safe in the city as sexual offenders roam freely. The saving grace for the police is that they have arrested the accused in this regard.

The first incident was reported from Badshahpur area, where a Class 11 student of a city based Government school was arrested for his alleged involvement in raping a girl. The victim happened to be his classmate.

According to the police, the victim's family alleged that the accused was harassing the girl for some time now and often followed her while she returned home. The incident took place at around 4 am when the accused reportedly asked her to come out of her house to settle the issue. When the victim came out of her house and walked some metres away from her home, the accused allegedly abducted her and took her to an under construction building and raped her.

"When the family members found her missing from the house they tried to search her in the adjoining areas. They found her in the under construction building and caught the accused red handed while raping her. We have arrested the accused under Section 376 in Badshahpur police station and conducted the medical examination of the victim which confirmed rape" said a senior police official.

In another case, a BPO employee has been arrested for raping a minor girl for past one and a half year. The police said that both of them had physical relationship in the past and the accused tried to elope with her to native place in Hathras in Western UP to marry her. However, girl's family members smelt his intensions and informed the police accordingly.

The girl was taken to a hospital for medical examination where rape was confirmed. It was revealed that the girl was raped umpteenth times. The accused also confessed before police that he had sexual relation with her since he has been living on rent in her house. The victim lived in Rajeev Nagar area of the city. Police registered a case of rape and arrested the accused in civil line police station.
