Court orders dikshit to appear on April 5
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit was on Monday asked by a city court to appear before it in person on April 5 in a defamation case filed by her against former Delhi BJP chief Vijender Gupta. Metropolitan Magistrate Saumya Chauhan directed the Chief Minister to appear before it on the next date after allowing her plea for exemption from personal appearance for a day.
"The complainant (Dikshit) has to be appear in person positively on the next date of hearing in the case. If she fails to come then the case can be dismissed," the court said and posted the matter for further hearing on April 5.
No disruption on traffic during strike: Govt
On the account of strike called up by the trade unions, autorickshaws and taxi unions on February 20 and 21, the Delhi Government has claimed to have made all necessary arrangements to ensure that there is no disruption in vehicular movement on the road. According to the Delhi government, various modes of public transport will be adequately provided in the city so that general public is not affected due to strike on Wednesday and Thursday. The government has also appealed that public may also consider sharing their private vehicles by way of car pools to avoid any commuting problem.
Inter-school garden competition held
Celebrating the month of flowers, Cambridge School Srinivaspuri organised first of its kind Inter-School Garden Competition on Saturday, 16th February 2013. Many schools from Delhi and NCR participated in the show. Each participating school prepared a flower bed with the help of their gardener and submitted the photographs. The teams also brought along with them five flowerpots with two different plants grown in each flowerpot. This was followed by a quiz for the gardeners to test their knowledge on plants and trees. The competition ended with a quiz for the students. DPS, Noida won the first award for their flower bed and flower pot arrangement while the gardener from Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan stood first.
