Bullet Police arrest auto-lifter
The Chinhat police arrested an auto-lifter after a hot chase on Friday night and, subsequently, recovered two cars and seven motorcycles on the lead provided by him. A country-made pistol, two cartridges and some fake documents were also seized. The police claimed that the auto-lifter was involved in more than 100 cases of auto-thefts in Lucknow and neighbouring districts.
Bullet CPMT plugs a loophole
In an effort to maintain the sanctity of Combined Pre Medical Test (CPMT), authorities at CSM Medical University (CSMMU) have introduced the provision of 'no answer' option in the Optical Marks Reader (OMR) sheet. The provision implies that no student will be able to leave any answer blank in the OMR sheet.

Mayor Dinesh Sharma on Saturday inspected various areas in the city to have a first hand information of the pathetic condition prevailing there. The move was taken after local residents made a complaint to the mayor regarding the sordid condition of their localities. During the inspection, several employees were served notices for laxity in their works.

Army, PAC and police personnel marched through the Sadar area on Saturday to defuse the growing tension over assault on vice-chairman of Lucknow Cantonment Board by a rival at a police outpost on Saturday night.
Bullet Cause & cure of chronic hepatitis discussed
The Gastroenterology department of Sahara Hospital organised a CME (Continuing Medical Education) on Chronic Viral Hepatitis on Saturday. Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C were major causes of liver cirrhosis and liver cancer. The CME was organised to create awareness about chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis C amongst doctors and the masses.
Bullet Youth held in extortion case
The Ghazipur police on Saturday arrested a youth for demanding protection money from a contractor close to a Samajwadi Party leader. The accused was earlier charged with attacking a former Station Officer of Gomti Nagar. An SUV was recovered from his possession.

About 200 teams will participate in the Lucknow round of Tata Crucible Campus Quiz-2009 which will be held in a city hotel on Monday.
