Odisha JEE results published

Adding to the jubilation of the +2 students, Vir Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) published the most awaited results of the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) on Thursday just one day after the publication of council results. The most appreciating thing is that the JEE result came out in 32 days only. The examination was conducted on 18 April, 2010.
As per the results announced, the boys have outshined girls in all exams for admission into Medical, Engineering, MBA, MCA, Pharmacy and various other technical courses. Not a single girl is seen in the topper list of the JEE.
While Abinash Nayak has topped in the entrance for medical, Ansuman Rath has got the credit for MBA. Similarly, while Akash Panigrahi has come first in the engineering entrance, Pravin Kumar Sahu in pharmacy, Tapan Kumar Jena in architect, Nilu Sahu in lateral pharmacy, Mihir Jena in MCA and Ram Chandra Barik in lateral technical have topped the list in their respective entrances.
As per the information available from VSSUT which conducted the prestigious entrance for the first time, total 99,796 students applied for the JEE and 82,590 have been allotted ranks for admission into eight different technical courses all over the State. Out of these successful candidates, 1,293 students have been selected for the medical admissions and 9,727 for pharmacy. Similarly 2,359 and 49,248 numbers of students have qualified for admissions into architecture and engineering courses, respectively.
Announcing the result at Burla, the Vice-Chancellor of VSSUT-cum-the chairman of the apex committee of the JEE Odisha Prof Deba Kumar Tripathy said that the result has been published just one month and two days after the examination conducted. “It is a record. We were very particular to give justice to every applicant and minor mistakes of the applicants were just ignored,” he said. This was for the first time that VSS UT conducted JEE Odisha, he added.
The results could also be available in the website www.odishajee.com. This year the number of candidates appeared in the JEE was 7,000 less than the previous year.
